I was born in Orlando and came to live with Dad and Huey (see The Team) in Miami in March 2002 shortly after my first birthday. Dad immediately enrolled me in household obedience class, from which I graduated in May. Despite my every effort to look unenthused about obedience, he continued taking me to drill class every week. It took some doing, but I finally convinced Dad I’d humor him and go along with the obedience thing, but he’d better schedule something fun for me, too. That’s where flyball came in.

Interjection from Dad:

Dustin only tells part of the story. Despite his breed’s general gentleness and elegance and specifically Dustin’s good citizen status, he wouldn’t let our student intern enter my office and tried to eat Aunt Nancy’s roommate Lee when Huey and I traveled to an Orlando tournament without him. I decided to start his training immediately so that he could join us on these excursions.

When I’m not training or lounging on the couch, I like to visit dog parks with Huey and our rescue Dobe cousins Bosco and Niki. I’m not really into the stuffed toy thing unless one of them happens to have Huey’s attention. Then I’ve got to have it. My favorite toy is a latex drumstick that I like to shake from side to side and slap myself in the face with.

I have a soft side, too, and love to cuddle and sleep with my Dad and my adopted brother, Huey (see The Team). I am not an early riser, and Dad turns off the alarm, dresses and waits for Huey and me - our leashes in hand - at the front door while leisurely we do our morning stretches.

Things I’d fix but can’t: My height, I’m a big boy.

Things Dad would fix about me but can’t: My not lifting my rear leg and pee'ing on the front ones frequently.
