Swimming, Socializing, Drives in the car, Anything that gets her outside, and of course...FLYBALL!

Keela was a surprise to my family and me.  I was out for a drive in Shubenacadie, NS on a beautiful Sunday afternoon in April when a woman walking a little puppy caught my eye.  I pulled the car over and was asking her about the little bundle she was walking.  It ended up that her mother had the litter and there were 3 pups left.  I got her phone number and at that point I was destined to see the rest of these puppies!  I tried to contact her on the following Monday and there was no answer.  I tried again the next day and I got in touch with her.  I saw the litter that evening and there were 4 males and 1 female.   The family was keeping 2 of the males, so I chose the female.  She was a jet black little ball of fur.
One week passed before my brother came up with a name that suited her.  He mixed my name and my boyfriend's name to come up with Keela.  I think it suits her.
Keela’s mother was a Lhasa Apso who wandered too far away from home to visit the Terri-poo next door.  We had a feeling that she would look a lot like a Lhasa, but never thought that her jet-black fur would go salt and pepper coloured.  Some people say that she’s got an aging disease, I just think she’s beautiful!

Keela started out her obedience in a puppy socialization class at the local vet in Fall River.  Upon completion, I really wanted to continue with obedience and when the 8 week course was over, we were asked about getting into flyball.  “Flyball?  What’s that?”  I had no idea what the sport was.

It’s now been 5 months since Keela first started flyball and we LOVE it.  She was in her first tournament on May 26 & 27 and lets just say that she TRIED.  Oh well, we’re not discouraged.  We’ll get back on track and she’s going to be a great little height dog!

Keela loves other dogs and she really likes to go swimming.  Keela shares her home with Leco, a Shitzu, but Leco is 9 years old and DOES NOT like Keela’s foolishness.

She goes everywhere with me.  Its not too often I go anywhere without her.  She's my little sidekick!
