Hi all, my name is Wanda Dickie and my dog's name is Hale however her registered name is " Clearfires Instant Appeal ".  I've owned Hale for about 3 1/2 years now, she was born on October 18, 1997.  My breeder is Jacqueline Campbell (Clearfire Kennels) in New Brunswick and she still owns Halie's mom.  Hale is an Australian Shepherd otherwise known as an Aussie.

When I first brought Hale home, I was given a booklet about her parents history.  Included in this was a FD title on her father (Wilmeths Arrogant Dandy), so I started inquiring as to what exactly all the titles were and came to find out about flyball.  I then realized that Hale's sister (Georgie) was doing flyball as well, which really piqued my curiosity about the sport.  It was a short time after that when I received a phone call from Phyllis Panting stating that she was going to start a flyball team and wanted to know if I was interested and I guess from there you know what happened, here I am two years later.
Hale is a very active dog, who has always had a natural drive for the frisbee and the ball.  When she was a puppy she would almost drown herself trying to get the frisbee from the bottom of the lake or the ball, it didn't matter what it was as long as it was a toy.  Hale has become a vast part of mine and my children's lives.  She is the most affectionate, well behaved dog I have ever owned.  Hale loves to go for runs and she loves to play with anybody that will through the ball.  She is very protective of the children but she is very sensitive towards them as well.  My youngest son (Brady) who is now 2 enjoys to sit down and share her water bowl with her as well as feed her bones.  She just keeps kissing his face, sometimes it's for affection and other times it's just to see what she can lick off his cheeks.
My daughter (Paige) who is 6 loves to have Hale around she's continuously playing ball with her and just being her best friend.  When Paige has a nightmare she usually calls Hale in her bedroom to climb up in bed with her. To Hale this is heaven, 'cause she's not allowed on the furniture in our house, however, I seem to be the only one to enforce this rule.  Hale enjoys playing flyball as much as I do and she also likes the thrill or excitement of the tournaments.  She plays well with the dogs on our team and she has one goal in mind when on the track and that is to go get the ball so mommy can through it again.

She's looked upon by me as another member of my family.  There is no mistaking it she is like a child to me.  She needs to pee at night she comes and wakes me up, she's hungry in the morning--she drags her paws across my chest, she wants to play--she can drop the tennis ball on my lap, somebody gets hurt--she's right there.  I figure she's about as close to human as you can get.  In my opinion flyball is the quality time I get with her, and I think that's why we both enjoy it so much.

Too all of you in doubt about the sport remember it doesn't hurt to try and you know we can make time for our kids well our pets are like kids too and we have to make time for them.  They require us just as much, if not more, than we do them.  They will always be loyal and by your side, so why not do something for them that will make them feel appreciated.
