Jake was bred in 1993 and the result was a great puppy named Coal. In 1998, Coal achieved a grand slam in the doggy world. He won High in Trial (HIT) at the Dalmatian Club of America National Specialty in Agility and 1 month later he won HIT at the Dalmatian Club of Canada National Specialty in Obedience and Agility.

Coal continued to excel in the performance events and as an all around canine athlete. At the age of 9 he won the Dalmatian Club of Canada National Specialty High in Trial for Obedience again. With only one win that year he placed number 5 for Dalmatians in obedience. Coal's registered name is Zabas Pepper Coal Dust CDX, Nai, OAi, SHD, SHDX, SHDCH, AM. CD, AM NA, CGC, FBDM, NAC, OAC, NAJ, OAJ, EAJ, NAG, NOG, VADC.  Unfortunately, this year, Coal has had a problem with his lower back and has forced him into retirement.

Coal loved to play scent hurdle racing, flyball and agility. Mack has some big shoes to fill!
