Calvin - a.k.a. "Cal", "Buddy" and "Boy" -
a black lab mix who was adopted from the Fredericton SPCA to join his new
family in 1998 when he was already 2 years old. He was abandoned for 17 days
in an apartment with no food or water when his previous owners decided to
move out west and leave him behind.
Calvin
began his flyball "career" in 2003 after learning the game through
home schooling with his Mom in the backyard. He is a very loving boy who enjoys
playing the game even though the word 'fast' is never used in the same sentence
as his name. He lives at home with his parents, Stephanie and Sean Macdougall,
his little sisters Winnie (another black lab mix) and Belle (shepard.lab mix),
Nike (border terrier), and his brother and sister of the feline variety.
He lovingly takes care of the whole family and loves to spend time on the
sofa while watching TV. Although he likes to play flyball very much, Calvin's
true passion is swimming and chasing splashes in the water. He even got to
fly on an airplane once with his Mom out to Alberta to live in a hotel for
6 months where he is proud to say that he developed a taste for fine foods
and lots of belly rubs.
