Prepare for Takeoff - Destination Fredericton
Our second annual tournament is scheduled for June 13-14, 2009. Here are some of the details.
Location
We will be having the Tournament at the Capital Exhibition Centre. That's on Smythe Street, right near a Tim Horton's. Here's a MapQuest view of Fredericton. The Capital Exhibition Centre isn't labeled, but it's on Smythe between Dundonald and Saunders.
Accomodations
Riverside Resort & Conference Centre at Mactaquac(formerly the Holiday Inn)
$85/night + HST.
Visitors to the Fredericton area should note that this hotel is about 20 minutes away from the tournament site. To get there, turn left out of the Capital Exhibition Centre onto Smythe St. Turn left onto Woodstock Rd. Stay on the same route as it turns into Provincial Highway 102. After travelling 14-15 km., take the ramp toward HWY 105, Keswick Ridge. The hotel will be right there.
Howard Johnson Plaza Hotel Fredericton (formerly the Wandlyn)
Call 506-462-4444 for reservations. Be sure and mention you are with the tournament to get the special rate and suitable lodging for you and your dog(s).
The Howard Johnson is at 958 Prospect St. To get there from the tournament site, turn right and go all the way up Smythe St. At the top of the hill, you will see Ringo's restaurant on the right. Turn right at the lights. The hotel will be a short distance away on the left. Here's a map.
A stay here includes free local and long distance within Canada, continental breakfasts and free wireless Internet. There is an indoor pool and fitness room, but we know you will be too tired to use them.

Friday Night Drag Racing
We are planning to have some fun on Friday night with some one-on-one drag races. You might want to plan for this.
Kiddie Table
We will be trying something new this year at our Destination Fredericton Flyball Tournament. We will be featuring a "Kiddie Table". This Kiddie Table will be available from 11am - 12:00 noon and then again at 3pm -4pm on Saturday. The Kiddie Table will feature some arts and crafts especially for the kids. It will be setup and run by Sue Barry and she assures me that there will be plenty to do for the kids during that time.

Guitar Hero
Crank up the volume and prepare to rock with Guitar Hero at Destination Fredericton! That’s right…..we will be featuring a Guitar Hero playoff of sorts. Show us what you got! On Friday and Saturday evenings, we will have a “Guitar Hero Stage” setup just for you. You can play by yourself or you can challenge someone….Erin Foster & Amanda Keddy are PFT’s reigning champions. There will be a sign up sheet, please write down your name and scores. It is free of charge and please play as often as you wish!
On Friday, Guitar Hero will coincide with Single Dog Racing. And on Saturday, enjoy the fun either before or after your steak dinners!
