Greta showing off her Agility skills! |
|
Greta came to us at 4.5 months of age. She was described by her breeder as having ‘springs on her feet,’ and she certainly does. From doing bank turns off the sofa while playing with our dachshund, Hansel, occasionally doing a 4 paw swimmer’s turn in flyball, to effortlessly jumping in agility, she is quite the unusual canine athlete. She’s become one of the fastest flyball danes with a personal best of 4.9 seconds and is even able to double run for a whole tournament. At one tournament, she earned over 1200 points! Since she’s huge and high contrast with her harlequin markings, she’s always a crowd favorite (and she runs faster when people cheer for her). She took over the #1 spot for her breed in July 2002 and is the first Great Dane to achieve the Flyball Master title and one of the first two danes to compete at the USDAA World Championships in agility in 2003. She is one of the elite agility danes and oddly, in agility her favorite obstacle is the tunnel--probably because she was raised with a wienerdog. Her favorite hobbies are dribbling and catching tennis and soccer balls, eating pizza, and being herded by her little brother Darwin. |
