CAN MY DOG TRAIN FOR FLYBALL?

Flyball is a relay race with each team having 4 dogs/handlers and is one of the fastest growing dog sports.  When fully trained, each dog jumps 4 hurdles, catches a ball from a spring-loaded box and returns over the jumps, hopefully nose to nose with the dog after him.  Each dog/handler "team" becomes a huge part of an overall team of dogs/handlers working on speed and the precision to create the "perfect pass" between each dog.

If your dog is over 6 months, is fit and healthy, reasonably obedient (comes when called and not aggressive) and loves toys (especially balls), then the answer is yes.  Any breed or size of dog can participate.

Note Dogs cannot compete and training may be restricted until 12 months old.  This is intended to prevent injury to your puppy.
