New Flyball Classes will be starting in the Winter, 2011. Registration opens in Dec 1st

Flyball Level 1: Beginner Flyball
Instructor: K-9 Kamikazes Flyball Team
Friday Nights from 7:00 PM – 7:55 PM

Beginner Flyball Class is for dogs and handlers with no previous Flyball experience, but have participated in basic dog training. Flyball offers fast paced action with plenty of excitement for you and your dog. Whether just for fun or for the more serious competitors, it is a great way to spend good quality time with your pet in a fun and high energy environment. Flyball racing matches two teams of four dogs, racing side-by-side over a 51 foot long course. Each dog must run in relay fashion down the jumps, trigger a flyball box, releasing the ball, retrieve the ball, and return over the jumps. The next dog is released to run the course but can't cross the start/finish line until the previous dog has returned over all four jumps and reached the start/finish line. The first team to have all four dogs finish the course without error wins the heat.

Prerequisites: Dog must know basic obedience skills: sit, down, stay, come/recall. All Dog Adventures also offers obedience classes as well like Puppy Levels 1 through 3. All dogs should be current on shots and older than 1 year. This class meets for 8 weeks for 1 hour each week.

Location: All Dog Adventures
Address: 4111 W. Clay St, Richmond, VA 23230

Flyball Practice
Participants: K9K Flyball Team
Friday Nights from 8:00 PM - 9:30 PM

While Beginner Flyball Class covers the basic game of flyball, Flyball Practice prepares you and your dog for competition. You will learn how to run with your dog and on a team of four dogs. Work on improving your box turn, learning the different positions, passing, multiple lanes and with distractions. The goal of practice is to learn to complete a clean run with your dog in a tournament.

Until you can get your dog started in a Flyball class, you can read about Flyball and training at the flyballdogs.com website. If you have Adobe Acrobat Reader you can download and print "On Your Mark," a Flyball training manual. Below are just a few other Flyball training websites.
