Kit

The Deutsch family had been searching for a dog for close to a year. We wanted a small-medium size dog. Not too small considering we had a six year old daughter. We found Kit on Petfinder.com. We were very excited when we saw her picture and even more excited when we met her! Kit was adopted from Beagles Etc in Windsor , CT in Feb. 2007. Kit was named at the animal shelter in Louisiana. She was from a litter of three. The shelter workers must have been hungry when they named the litter because they were named Kit, Kat and Bar.

Kit is a mutt. Pure and simple. Everyone has their own opinion of what breeds she is. It is always interesting to hear what people think. Our vet had the best answer when we asked what she thought she was. She said just tell people that her parents and grandparents were very friendly dogs!

We don't care what breed she is we just know she is a great dog. Kit is very friendly and loves everyone she meets. She loves to go to the local pet stores to say Hi to anyone that looks at her. She also loves shopping for new squeaky toys! Kit loves anything squeaky! Even at 6am when the rest of the family is trying to sleep Kit loves to play with her squeaky toys! Kit also loves to run around the backyard playing tag with her sister Snickers. The neighbors who love to watch her run around and throw her toys in the air and catch them! They are amazed at how fast she can run.

A few weeks after we adopted Kit we were in a local pet store shopping for some squeaky toys. We were approached by a woman who was asking us all about Kit. We told her about how fast she was and how she loved toys and balls. We told her that we wanted to get Kit involved with something to redirect her excessive energy and to bond with Jessica. She asked if we knew what flyball was. We had never heard of it. She told us her name was Kathy and that she was the captain for local flyball team. She explained what flyball was and asked us to come watch practice the next week. We figured it could not hurt and went. When we watched the team practice it looked like a fun thing to try. We were not sure if Kit would be any good at it. Kathy said Kit would be great and showed Jessica what to do. We have been hooked ever since!

Originally Jessica and her Mom Theresa were training Kit. It was decided that Kit could only have one person run her. Jessica wanted to be the one. Jessica is training Kit. They are a great pair. Kit will do anything for her.

Jessica got Kit her first title in March 2008 in Manchester, NH at All Dogs Gym, Jessica was also awarded a Junior Handler Pin.
