About Us

We are a small group of people and we all LOVE to play flyball! Our #1 priority is to have fun with our dogs and our team mates. We always strive to do our best in every tournament.

Hot Rod Hounds was formed by Jennifer Steakley and Gaylan Smith in May 2002. After six years of competition with many wins and awards, Jennifer decided to retire. In May of 2008 Don Watson took over the team as captain and owner. Starting with just two dogs, Hot Rod Hounds is quickly turning into what will be a competitive team that will continue it's winning tradition. Hot Rod Hounds currently competes in the open division with Canines In Action.

We believe that any dog can compete in flyball. We use positive training methods to help our dogs excel at flyball. We practice twice a week and our practices are open to any one interested in competing in flyball.
