White Mountain Mayhem, Amherst, NH- January 28th & 29th, 2006:

This was our disaster tournament to begin with- people not being able to go after they had thought they would be able to, dogs getting sick or injured... we were just hoping to make it through in one piece.  Well, the dogs proved that they were ready!

Bring It!:  For the regular team, we had Sally, Chance, Haiku, Karmela, Baxter and Shilo.  Carol handled Sally all weekend long and was perfect (and I think really enjoying running her :) ).  Chance ran as second dog for the first time ever.  We thought he'd have a problem with a dog following him, but apparently wasn't phased at all by it.  Our theory is that he thought he could beat Sally back (who was running first).  Maybe some day...  Haiku is turning into a very solid little dog.  She was thrown in a few times with no or less than ideal warm-up and still did perfectly.  Karmela really turned it on for the first time- and was running real fast!  Baxter is doing real well and got some more fans!  Shilo ran in his first tournament, and after the first day of being on and off, the second day he was almost perfect (and quite quick, I might add).  This team did real well this weekend!

Four on the Floor:  Our multibreed team was Molly May, Shrek, Alex, Sally, Surtsey and Beatrice (for warm-ups).  Molly May started off Saturday being a little 'off'.  She was still doing her job (like any good worker would) but she wasn't the "Molly May".  Lynne let her crate out in the car, thinking all the dogs around wasn't letting her relax like she wanted to, and by the end of Saturday she was back to her old self.  Shrek was being run by Alyson for the second tournament.  They looked VERY professional together.  Alyson did a great job of handling him and Shrek was really getting into the racing!  Plus, him and Molly had some real nice passes.  Alex is getting back to his old self again, after being a little off at the last tournament.  He was even getting passed close by Sally and didn't seem to mind.  Sally did well in her anchor position (she's used to being start dog).  She even did well with passing Alex- she doesn't have the best reputation for being able to follow a dog.  She enjoyed the last spot and was able to pull out quite a few wins that we may not have gotten if she weren't such a competitive little girl :).  This team started Saturday being a little off, and by Sunday made it to the final round of the double elimination!
