We are looking forward to a great weekend. There are 57 teams entered and 2
rings. Please check the links on our web site http://flyballdogs.com/flashpoint/
for the seed chart, racing schedule, hotel, Friday night activities and
emergency veterinary and human hospital information. Thanks to our judges Geoff Brown and Phil Getty for agreeing to come judge! Thanks also to Carle Lee Detweiler and Scott Rideout who have agreed to provide breaks for our judges as needed. Racing Schedule, Format, and Scoring We have a full schedule of racing. The seeding, format for each division, and racing schedules are posted on our website. We will be running the one schedule for both rings format. Races posted will be the on deck races. Please help out with line or box judging if you can – we’ll take any help we can get with our first tournament! Scoring for all divisions will be one point for each heat won and two points for winning the race. A half point will be awarded for any tied heats and one point for any tied races. Warm-ups both days will be 90 seconds for each team’s first race, then 60 seconds for the rest of the day. Placement in case of ties will be decided based on the following criteria: 1. Fastest time in the division 2. Fastest time head to head 3. If still tied, a tie breaker race (2 of 3 heats) Awards We have ribbons for first through third place in each division as well as title ribbons. Each dog racing this weekend will receive a toy at the end of Sunday’s racing. Friday Night Racing We are trying something new along with this and will have one lane open for ‘puppy racing’ for recalls with or without jumps and with or without someone in the other lane. We will also have the traditional single dog racing and ring practice time. We are aiming for a 6:30 start and end at 8:30. Raffle We are going to have 2 separate great raffles!! TGIF is having their raffle on Saturday and will be drawing tickets after race #125. Flash Point’s raffle will be Sunday and drawn after race #239. Site Information Crating will be available in 2 covered barns (5 & 6) that are very close to the racing building. There is electricity in the barns for those that want it. There will be no crating inside the racing building other than for the host teams and judges. The racing building is not air conditioned. There are some fans and we will provide more if it is unseasonably hot. There are several other events going on each day on the grounds. Some are dog related events. Please keep your dogs on leash at all times that you are not racing. There is parking for RV’s and campers on-site overnight but no hookups are available. No pre-registration required. Please park RV’s at the back of the building, area will be marked. Please note: No "reserving" of parking spaces will be allowed other than for host club members who need to make quick entries and exits due to racing and running the tournament, and those with special needs. Also please do not park on the road between the barns and the racing building. Food Rise at Dawn will be our food vendor at the site both Saturday and Sunday for breakfast and lunch. Service will begin at 7 a.m. each day and continue until the end of racing. The menu will include hot and cold beverages, breakfast sandwiches, hot dogs, hamburgers, grilled cheese, turkey and ham sandwiches, chicken tenders, veggie burgers, and fries, and more, including pies, funnel cake, pretzels, cheese stix and nachos.
