| Chloe was adopted,
along with her littermate Emma, in the summer of 2001. She has always been
the more assertive of our two schnauzers and has been very nervous around
new people and dogs. We put Chloe in flyball classes in the spring of 2003
with the hopes that it would reduce her anxiety in new situations. We knew
that she would have no problem passing level 1 as she had a great drive for
fetching balls. When we were entering level 2 we hoped, in the distant
future, she would be able to run against other dogs without wanting to chase
them. Well, with the great instruction and encouragement of the F’n’F team,
Chloe did pass and went on to racing in the house league.
Today, Chloe has far exceeded our
expectations. Within a year of her first flyball class, Chloe has already
raced in three tournaments, achieving her first three flyball titles. She
has proven to be a fierce competitor, constantly watching her competition in
the other lane – taking her time when she has no one to race, and running
harder when she notices another dog. A fellow competitor recently told us
Chloe reminded her of "a border collie in a schnauzer suit." We are very
proud of our little girl! |
