~UPDATES~

Check out how our team is progressing lately…

April 21-22, 2007

Our first U-Fli tournament and the first in Canada! Darla and Skye were on one team, Dawson on another, and the two teams raced each other the very first race, so these were the very first dogs to race U-fli in Canada – very cool! We placed third, made some titles for the pooches, and had a great time! We also had Dawson and Darla in pairs racing and Darla in singles. Those were very useful and so much fun… more u-fli!!

Jan 2007

Well this site hasn’t been updated in quite some time, I’m going to try to keep at it this time! We finished off the year with some new titles. Darla gets her FM, Gigi FM, Dawson FMX, Envy FDCH-S, Skye FDCH-G… It was quite a year and we’ve had some changes. We have a lot of new guys just waiting for a shot in the lanes… it should be an awesome year, and we look forward to more time racing!!!

May 13th - 14th, 2006

Gigi runs for the first time with EE! We made around 300 points and had a great time! We smoothed out some of the wrinkles with our line up…

April 2/06

We entered the lanes with this weekend with a temporary height dog Fred, handled by Pam Casselman, as our height dog Envy is on ‘sabbatical’ J and Gigi is out of town. Thanks Pam for helping us out so we could play in the lanes!

Sept 1/05

We welcome “Ami” a beautiful mix with bright blue eyes and an upbeat personality to our team! Look for Ami to test out her flyball skills in the upcoming Carp tourney!

July 30th – 31rst, 05

What a weekend in Norwood! One moment to remember: Envy’s turn off the box via the ball launch – all 4 feet perfect beautiful turn and a full perfect run – however a re-run required as the girl didn’t touch the trigger LOL! Yes Envy, put those feet a little lower!! J We came in 3rd place in regular division 3. WTG guys! It was a great weekend of racing and great hospitality by the Hot Diggity Dogs team. Our best time was 21.23 running Skye, Mickey, Darla, Molly (Break-out!!!) – our best NON breakout time was 21.63 running Skye, Mickey, Darla, Envy! <whew> LOL. Check our brags page for new titles!

June 10th-12th, 05

Our trip to Caledonia – well if we remember anything at all it will be the humidity and the heat. What a weekend! First the disc dog trial on Friday was great, so many people turned out and Dawson, Skye and Envy all participated… of course they had a great time! The flyball weekend was fantastic, thanks to a very special temporary addition named Jynx! Thanks Jynx from Made in Canada, for coming to run with us this weekend! She is quite a spectacular little girl! The dogs earned new titles and despite the heat ran almost flawlessly until the last race on Sunday when I think they all agreed that enough was enough J We couldn’t blame them one bit! Check our brags page for new titles!

Our third tourney in Trenton we went exhibition toward the end on Sunday, poor Fly just went over to visit in the other lane one time too many! All he needs is a little more time, he has a fabulous box turn, he just likes to socialize J We still couldn’t be happier with his progress, he has come so far from that timid little rescue dog… Actually all of our dogs have come so far, we couldn’t be more proud of all of them!

May 15th, 05

Our second tournament ever was over the weekend and sure was interesting! We ran Skye, Darla, Molly, Fly and sometimes Diego… The environment must have gotten to Diego and Fly – this was their first tourney – and it seemed like they both forgot what to do! But it was a learning experience all right! We actually did make some points, 31 in total! J

House league today was a stretch and a half, let me tell you! We ran the lineup of Molly, Diego, Fly, Skye and sometimes little Envy… until Molly decided that is would be cool to cross over to the other lane, and while we watched in horror, she smacked into another dog, did a few somersaults in the air and came crashing down on her head! Thankfully her head hit the wooden podium and not the hard floor, and (after a few intense seconds) Molly got up and shook herself off like nothing happened… Needless to say she took it easy the rest of the day, but she was wondering what the fuss was about, you wouldn’t have guessed she had been through what she had by looking at her… crazy girl! So then we raced Skye, Diego, Fly, Envy for the majority of the races that were left. Well Diego was a little intimidated by Molly during the first few lineups (she’s pretty intense) and had lost his turn on the box, but with this lineup, Diego was back into the groove. Fly oh Fly – what a day he had! He crossed over sometimes, but considering this guy wasn’t running a full run last month, well he did an awesome job! Little Envy? Well 8.5 month old Envy did a superb job as well, towards the end she noticed dogs in the other lane and thought it would be fun to play with them, but putting her on anchor dog solved that problem and miss bouncy was having a blast of a time! Envy won’t be in the real lanes until she turns one, so she’ll be more than ready for her real debut. House league was a great experience and we would like to extend a big THANK YOU to Backdraft for holding these events this year!

March 20, 2005

At house league today we ran the line up Molly, Mickey, Skye, Diego (and sometimes Dawson). Diego had his debut today! Fly ran recalls – distraction was an issue for both newbies of course, but Diego overcame that after the 3rd race and ran the last 3 races really well! WHOO HOO!!!! Way to go Diego! We will get those issues ironed out before last house league boys! After all, little lady Envy will be joining you boys for her debut then, and you’ll want to impress her with your talents J

House league today went really well. We ran the line up Molly, Dawson, Mickey, Darla. Skye was home getting over her cold. Molly only went off to explore in the other lane a couple of times after she finished her run if mom didn’t catch her fast enough J But other then that she was running perfectly with a beautiful turn. She has blossomed into a fantastic flyball dog. We left with 6 out of 6. Way to go team!

Our first tournament was SharkFEBst… and my first experience running on 3 teams all at one tourney! Yikes! Thanks to Sands and everyone at DogGone ballistic for the tremendous help with everything and guidance in getting my feet wet, or soaked for that matter, in my very first tourney as a Captain! It was a fantastic weekend and we all had a great time! I didn’t jinx Mickey by telling Andi over and over that her boy was dream team material, and that was proven on his very first tourney! You could have peeled me off the roof I was so happy for the both of them J Also I couldn’t have been happier with how Molly actually fought distractions (like little dogs in her lane) and completed full runs! What a girl! And Darla for running perfectly for Ty and Sands from DGB - THANKS! Skye has come around 180 degrees, it is awesome to see that girl run. Thank you Erin from DGB for giving us a superstar height dog!! Niki was awesome! Cannot believe how well these dogs ran for an all green team! Now back to practicing those passes so we can move up a division or 2… well maybe! Check our brags page for new titles!

Jan 23rd, 05

Our 3rd house league event – we tried two line ups: Skye, Mickey, Niki, Molly and Skye, Mickey, Darla , Niki. After losing the first two races we pulled Molly, she was not ready for all that distraction, but she tried REALLY hard (and so did Jacques – her handler for the day)!! Our second line up took over and we won the remaining 4 races J We can hardly wait to debut this line up of all rescue & green dogs at SharkFEBst! On the last race Dawson and Skye ran head to head as start dogs on DGB & EE. I was blown away when on the first heat Skye left Dawson in her dust… However Dawson didn’t let that happen a second time…! What competition between ‘sisters’!

Jan 12, 05

We would like to announce a temporary addition to our team for SHARKFEBST! A sweet little rescued dog Niki (a green dog from DGB) will be running with us as height dog. This means we will be running a completely GREEN team!! Skye/Darla, Mickey, Molly/Fly and Niki. The only dog in this Sharkfebst team that is not rescued is Molly… So we should be running quite a few races with an all rescue line up! Dawson will be on loan to DGB and run in both their regular and multi teams in exchange for Niki.

Jan 1, 05:

We would like to announce the addition of a little BC mix to our team! “Crazy Maisy” is a treat vs ball obsessed girl who is truly quite the character! It will be really fun to watch her learn flyball…

Dec 12, 04:

House league #2: This time we only raced 5 races. We ran the same line up as last time (Skye, Mickey, Dawson, Darla) as Molly and Diego are not yet on full runs. Our dogs were a bit out of whack at practice the night before (basically the line up was a disaster and we all had a look of panic on our faces!!!) so we were quite a bit worried when we arrived at house league the following morning! After losing our first race, the dogs finally got back into the swing of things and we began to test out passing. Mickey passed Skye without a problem, but Skye the little demon had to be thrown a ball to keep her from turning around and running back down the lane! Thank you to the volunteer “Skye catchers” J Mickey is such a champ, dogs passing him coming and going as he is in position #2. Love ya Mickey! Every dog had a perfect turn on the box every time – WHOOO HOOO! We ended up winning 4 out of 5 races, but also ended the day with our new record of 21.3 seconds!! Over the next few weeks we will be trying to tighten the passes on all the dogs and try to get Darla to even pass at all - that would be nice Darla! <hint hint> Next house league in January, Dawson (the only seasoned dog on the team) will not be in the line up – who will be filling her spot? Stay tuned!

Dec 10, 04:

We welcome Dawson and Darla from Quick Release to Extreme Envy!! Also we would like to announce a new member in training, Kip to our team!

Nov 28, 04:

NEWS from house league #1: WOW! I have never been to a house league before! It was an awesome experience! I have to say a big thank you to Back Draft for hosting this event! It was a lot of fun and very well put together. We all got a lot out of it, since most of our members have never even been to a tournament before let alone handle a dog in that type of environment! Everyone did a fantastic job even though we had a few ‘eep’ moments… We finished the day winning 7 out of 7 races! Not too shabby J We had such a great time! Absolutely fantastic day! Dec 12th we hope to have Molly ready for her debut… it’s only 2 weeks away! Kona, Diego and Fly will be doing recalls…

Oct, 04:

We have entered the house league tournaments to be hosted by BACK DRAFT in Kingston this winter! All of our dogs are VERY green dogs, so we borrowed a seasoned dog for the first tournament; Dawson, (handled by Denine Martin) and a green dog Darla (handled by Brenda Lowry) from Quick Release. Our green handlers will gain experience handling dogs in a tournament environment. Extreme Envy’s Molly Meg Fly and Diego will take turns running recalls. Molly will be making her line-up debut at the 2nd house league tournament on Dec 12th! She will replace Dawson in the line-up. We plan for Diego to replace Darla on Jan 23rd! Stay tuned for NEWS…
