“Mickey was adopted from the OHS in May 2002 when he was 9 months old as birthday / graduation present for myself.  I was initially a bit apprehensive because he had suffered abuse with his previous owner.  However, I knew he was perfect when the OHS staff brought him out to meet me and he sat down right next me, leaned all his weight against my leg, and proceeded to lick my hand intently.  Maybe I had something that tasted good on it, but I like to think it was love at first sight for both of us, even though his ears were a bit alarming at first.  :)  They warned me that he was "ball obsessed" and it was confirmed immediately once I brought him home.  Mickey likes nothing more than to play and act foolish but is also completely content to lay near (or on) me (or anyone else) during quiet time.  He loves being petted (almost) as much as he loves to play fetch.  Mickey has the personality and oddly cute looks to win over anyone who meets him.  He really is the best dog anyone could ever ask for and bringing him home was the best decision I've ever made.”
