Are you looking
for a new hobby, an activity to do with your dog?
Electric Dawg Flyball Club is now offering flyball classes starting
September
21, 2011.
Training and competing in flyball is very addictive and time consuming.
All competitions are out of town and there is a tournament almost every
month. This is a very physical sport for you and your dog and because it
is a team sport, everyone is expected to contribute and help their
teammates. If you think you have the desire and time to commit, please
contact us.
We are interested in adding new members with a desire to compete. You
must be able to travel to tournaments and commit the entire weekend.
Tournaments are usually in Huntsville, the Houston area or Belton. Most
members arrive at the site on Friday afternoon for set up, racing starts
early (around 8:00 am) on both Saturday and Sunday and lasts all day.
So, please review your schedule to determine if this is a sport for you.
In addition to the time commitment, there is also a financial aspect to
the sport in the way of entry fees, lodging, dues, etc.
Flyball is a fast paced, competitive sport for you and your dog. Dogs
must be 9 months old, in good health, have some obedience training, and
get along with people and other dogs. Because there are so many homeless
animals, your dog must be spayed/neutered prior to joining these
classes. Classes are a prerequisite to being considered for provisional
membership in the club.
Classes are held in Pflugerville/Round Rock and are indoors. The 8 weeks
of classes are held on Wednesday evenings at 6:30 p.m. and are $100.
Class sizes are limited so enroll early.
