Skye

I used to live under an old house and I was called "dog". One day my owners came outside and told me to leave and shooed me away. I walked around the streets for a few days until a mean man put a wire noose around my neck and drug me to his truck. He took me to this awful place that was loud and had lots of scared and barking dogs.

One day this family came to meet me, but I was more interested in running along the fence line and I didn't pay much attention to them. When they put me back in the kennel I was so sad. I thought I had really blown my chance. Then I overheard a lady tell them I couldn't be adopted for two days. I waited and waited for two long days hoping I would see those nice people again. Then, at the exact moment I was eligible for adoption, they showed up! Hooray! I recognized them immediately and stared at the latch, praying they would open the door.

Now I live with them and they call me Skye. They are a pretty good family. They have a little boy who climbs all over me and sometimes squeezes my face. I am very patient with him, though. I always check on him when he is napping, and prefer to lay in his room when he is in there. I really love to stand guard when he is eating - mostly because he drops lots of goodies from his high chair. Yum!

I have learned a lot in the last few months in my new home. I didn't know much about playing and being silly before, but I am learning all about it. I am even learning how to play flyball and I love it!
