Vet Services near the NC State Fairgrounds Site

Our team Veterinarians recommend the following 3 emergency hospitals. Please ask anyone on the DGF club if you need veterinary assistance during the racing day, and we will locate Dr. Walker or Dr. Gemma.

   1. NC State Veterinary Teaching Hospital

The NC State Vet School and Hospital is right across Blue Ridge Rd from the NC State Fairgrounds. This is the closest hospital to the tournament venue.  The hospital driveway entrance is on Hillsborough.

After regular business hours, you may contact our Small Animal Emergency Service (SAES) directly by calling 919-513-6911. The SAES will see your animal immediately with or without a referral from your primary care veterinarian.

   2. Quail Corners Animal Hospital

    The Quail Corners web site has maps and driving directions. Here is the address and driving directions:

·         If you are at hotels in the Crabtree mall area: Start out by going East on Glenwood Avenue. This is a right turn out of the hotels (Motel 6 - must take Arrow Drive first, and then move over left one lane immediately when reaching Glenwood Ave).

·         Take the I-440 N/INNER Beltline towards Wake Forest.

·         Take the Wake Forest Road exit, number 10.

·         Turn left onto Wake Forest Road.

·         Continue on this road for approx 2 miles (it will become Falls of Neuse Road).

·         Turn right onto E. Millbrook Road.

·         Hospital is on your left in about 1 block or so.

FROM NC State Fairgrounds: Take I-440 (Beltline)/US1 South towards Apex/Sanford. Continue on US1 South/64 West to Cary Parkway exit.  Turn left onto Cary Parkway.  Turn left onto Tryon Road.  VSH is 100 yards on the right.

FROM Cary: Take Kildaire Farm Road or Cary Parkway to Tryon Road. Head East on Tryon Road (towards Wellington/Crossroads). VSH is on the right just past Cary Parkway.

FROM WEST (Chapel Hill, Durham, and Greensboro): Take 40 East to Raleigh.  Take Exit 293-A onto US1 South/64 West (Apex, Sanford). Take US1 South/64 West to Cary Parkway exit.  Turn left onto Cary Parkway.  Turn left onto Tryon Road.  VSH is 100 yards on the right.
