Welcome to the DogGoneFast FlyBall VI!
Thank you for your entries; we are expecting 51 teams and we will have 2 rings. Please check the other links on our web site for seed chart, racing schedule, detailed directions/maps and a complete list of food sales.
We have managed to provide each team approximately 40 heats. We are doing the “One Schedule for 2 Rings” format, which will mean our club may be short handed as there are extra positions to be filled, please help out with line or box judging if you can, each race judged earns you a free raffle ticket for the special volunteer’s raffle! We have ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements, a raffle and our prize table is sponsored by PetSmart.
Our judges are Todd Morningstar and Scott Chamberlain. Our acting RD is Maria Oliverio from the On Your Bark! flyball club.
Racing Format
The Racing Format is described on the seed chart. Warm-ups will be 120 seconds on both days. Warm-up time may be reduced to 90 seconds if necessary. Please notify the judge if you do not need the entire warm-up period. The two rings will be separated by a barricade. Please use the assigned doors for entering and exiting your ring and do not cross behind the barricade.
Geoff has graciously offered to coordinate as Maitre-D once again and will be providing ring assignments. Teams will be handed their C2 form to take to their assigned ring. Please note that you must pick up your C2 form and ring assignment from Geoff before proceeding to your ring.
Jonathan's Data Entry Services will be providing printed stickers for the posterboards and doggy point totals for all teams. Please thank Jonathan (Kate's husband) for his help when you see him at the tournament.
Venue Information
The Holshouser building will be open until about 9pm on Friday night; you may drop off your flyball boxes if you wish. There is no room for team crating in the racing building, exceptions have been given for judges, for folks that have special needs and for particularly old or young dogs.
Friday night Racing and Training Opportunities
We are holding Single Dog Racing on Friday night again! Races are best 3 of 5 for $5 with all proceeds are going to Animal Kind, a local non-profit organization that sponsors the $20 FIX. This is a program that provides co-pay type spay/neuter programs for low income families. Geoff and I will match up to the first $200 raised in the SDR. You may run against someone or unopposed. If your dog is not quite ready for racing, you can request 5 minutes for $5. This fundraiser is important to us, so please come out and support us! We have received permission to use the NAFA EJS during the Single Dog Racing and we will be writing down the dog’s racing times. We expect to start the SDR by 6pm.
Start Times
Saturday Schedule:Food
We have arranged with a local non-profit organization to provide breakfast, lunch and snacks on-site. The complete list of food is available on our web site.
Vendors
We will have vendors at our tournament offering canine massages, treats, gifts, toys, etc. Please support them and our event by checking out their merchandise!
Saturday NC State Football Game
The NC State Football team is playing a football game (vs Clemson) at noon on Saturday. We are very close to the stadium. I expect that the game will be finished before we are done racing; but there may be some residual traffic jams. There will be lots of people around so I imagine we will have spectators and folks wanting to pat the dogs.
