Welcome to the DogGoneFast FlyBall V!
Thank you for your entries; we are expecting 41 teams and we will have 2 rings. Please check the other links on our web site for seed chart, racing schedule, detailed directions/maps and a complete list of food sales.
We have managed to provide each team with 39 or 40 heats. We are doing the “One Schedule for 2 Rings” format, which will mean our club may be short handed as there are extra positions to be filled, please help out with line or box judging if you can, each race judged earns you a free raffle ticket for the special volunteer’s raffle! We have ribbons for 1st, 2nd and 3rd placements, a raffle and our prize table is sponsored by PetSmart.
Racing Format
The Racing Format is described on the seed chart. Warm-ups will be 120 seconds on both days. Warm-up time may be reduced to 90 seconds if necessary. Please notify the judge if you do not need the entire warm-up period. The two rings will be separated by a barricade. Please use the assigned doors for entering and exiting your ring and do not cross behind the barricade.
Geoff and Bill have graciously offered to coordinate as Maitre-D once again and will be providing ring assignments. Teams will be handed their C2 form to take to their assigned ring. Please note that you must pick up your C2 form and ring assignment from them before proceeding to the ring.
Venue Information
The Holshouser building will be open until at least 9pm on Friday night; you may drop off your flyball boxes if you wish. There is no room for team crating in the racing building, exceptions have been given for judges, for folks that have special needs and for particularly old or young dogs.
Friday night Racing and Training Opportunities
We are holding Single Dog Racing on Friday night again! Races are best 3 of 5 for $5 with all proceeds are going to Snowflake Animal Rescue in memory of our teammates Sue & Ava. You may run against someone or unopposed. If your dog is not quite ready for racing, you can request 5 minutes for $5. This fundraiser is important to us, so please come out and support us! Leaving the Fairgrounds on Saturday after Racing
The NC State Football team is playing a nationally televised game at 8pm on Saturday night. We are very close to the stadium. I expect the traffic will be very busy on Blue Ridge, Wade Avenue, Trinity Road, Edwards Mill, Hillsborough (well ok, all the streets). The parking lots open at 4pm for tailgating, I expect the worst traffic to be around 5pm. Hopefully we will be done before then, but if not, I would recommend going out the Fairgrounds MAIN gate, turning Right on Blue Ridge, turning Left at the lights onto Hillsborough and then getting on I-440 north (pass under bridge and turn left) if you are trying to return to the North Raleigh area. Please let me know if you have any questions and I can help you out.
Contact Amanda Brown if you have any questions: 919 787-8048 (home) 919 218-1391 (cell) or at doggonefast@yahoo.com
Drive carefully and we’ll see you on the weekend!
