Double Dog Dare's Introduction to Flyball teaches dogs and handlers how
to play flyball as single participants. Once they have mastered
the basics and can repeat the sequence reliably with distractions, we
advance dogs and handlers to team practices, where we introduce them to
running in lineups.
The 12-week class is
held in Winterville Tuesday evenings at 7:30. Our next class starts
April 5, 2011. The cost of the class is $125, nonrefundable. Dogs
must be properly
socialized, have a good recall and be at a proper weight in order to
enroll in the class. In the weeks leading up to the
class start date, the club offers teaser training sessions for
prospective students and their dogs. Cost of those is $7.50 per
session, and sessions last approximately 20 minutes. These are
offered in conjunction with our regular team practices on Sunday
afternoons and are by appointment only. Teasers are available
February 27 and March 6, 20 and 27. Inquire about teaser training
sessions by contacting Dana Hanson at
dddflyball@windstream.net.
Flyball
isn't our business; it's our passion. We train and compete to
have fun with our dogs. We offer classes to introduce people in
the area to flyball and to grow our competition teams. When
possible, we make inquiries about prospective students and
competitors. We may make decisions about the suitability
of an individual or dog for class or competition on that or another
basis.
