Roscoe’s energy, speed and jumping ability were
apparent at an early age. Andrew knew he needed to find an outlet for these
gifts to maintain his and Roscoe’s sanity. After looking into a number of
dog sports, he decided flyball was the best fit. As luck would have
it, Double Dog Dare had recently made Athens, Georgia its |

With Roscoe in tow, Andrew caught the club’sdemo at Grace’s Birthday Party, a local fundraiser event. The two enrolled
in our first Introduction to Flyball class less than two weeks later.
Roscoe had a raucous start. He could run and jump like a champ but
lacked focus. Mostly he was interested in running around the ring,
visiting with other dogs |

and jumping on
handlers. He WAS having fun, though. Over a period of
about six months, he became more excited about playing the game and
less distracted at the prospect of zooming around the ring
uncontrollably. Roscoe debuted in Talladega in November as a
member of our Daredevils multi- |
|
breed team,
where he successfully completed a heat and earned his first
title. He likes running flyball more than anything else he’s
ever done.
Outside the lane,
Roscoe has appeared in several calendars for the Athens Area Humane
Society. He is 24% Labrador Retriever, 74% Poodle and 2% Stud Muffin. |
