Lord Roscoe Puttin' On Ayers

Roscoe’s energy, speed and jumping ability were apparent at an early age.  Andrew knew he needed to find an outlet for these gifts to maintain his and Roscoe’s sanity.  After looking into a number of dog sports, he decided flyball was the best fit.  As luck would have it, Double Dog Dare had recently made Athens, Georgia its

home.  With Roscoe in tow, Andrew caught the club’sdemo at Grace’s Birthday Party, a local fundraiser event. The two enrolled in our first Introduction to Flyball class less than two weeks later.

Roscoe had a raucous start.  He could run and jump like a champ but lacked focus.  Mostly he was interested in running around the ring, visiting with other dogs

and jumping on handlers.  He WAS having fun, though.  Over a period of about six months, he became more excited about playing the game and less distracted at the prospect of zooming around the ring uncontrollably.  Roscoe debuted in Talladega in November as a member of our Daredevils multi-   breed team, where he successfully completed a heat and earned his first title.  He likes running flyball more than anything else he’s ever done.  Outside the lane, Roscoe has appeared in several calendars for the Athens Area Humane Society. He is 24% Labrador Retriever, 74% Poodle and 2% Stud Muffin.
