Flyball is a relay race that matches two teams of four dogs each, racing side-by-side over a Flyball course. The course consists of a starting line, 4 hurdles spaced 10 feet apart and a box.

Classes meet on Sundays at 12 noon starting May 6th at Flagpole Hill Park, Dallas, TX

Class will run for 8 weeks and lasts 30 minutes to 1 1/2 hour depending on class size.

The dog jumps the hurdles and steps on a spring loaded box that shoots out a tennis ball. The dog catches the tennis ball and then runs back over the 4 hurdles.  The first team to have all 4 dogs run without errors wins the heat.

You will need to bring:

Dog kennel or crate

portable chair

6-8 ft nylon dog leash

basic collar or harness (no choke or prong/pinch collars)

Lots of water for you and your dog

small, smelly treats (about 100 pieces)

favorite toy or tug

proof of vaccination

Flyball races offer fast-paced action with plenty of excitement for dogs, handlers, and especially spectators. All dogs including mixed breeds are eligible to compete and earn titles in NAFA and U-Fli sanctioned tournaments. 

 

Please wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes
