Hanna was my first dog. From day 1, she bounced off the walls! We went to obedience
school for 3 years straight, keeping her mind challenged and learning as much as
possible. Then I found out about agility and gave it a try. We both thought it was
soooooo much fun! But, not too far into her agility career, we discovered Hanna's bad
hips when she started refusing jumps. So, we put sports on hold for a year while we
learned about the condition and what we could do to help her. That is about the time I
discovered flyball! My young mixed breed, Chase, was started in training and I couldn't
just leave Hanna out of the fun! With the help of a great diet and supplements, Hanna's
hips felt well enough for her to enjoy the sport. She was a natural, of course! Now,
Hanna runs on vets teams when an extra dog is needed. She may not be the fastest, but
she can be the most interesting to watch! I have seen Hanna drop a ball at the box,
chase after it almost to the other lane, grab the ball and come back into the proper lane
and complete all the jumps. Hanna does have a weakness in flyball.... She just LOVES to
go and visit the box judge occasionally! Or even some of the people waiting to go into
the lane next! Our motto with Hanna....... 'Don't make eye contact!!!!'
