Chase was found wandering the streets of Pomeroy, OH in the spring of 2003. He was
taken to the Meigs Co. Shelter where dogs have 5 days, then they are euthanized. The
shelter has a 95% euthanasia rate due to the overpopulation of animals. Luckily for
Chase, a kind volunteer, Sandy Stealey, saw him and pulled him from the shelter just in
time. He was fostered at Sandy's house and put up for adoption through AtoZ rescue,
which was based here in MA. I was looking for a small dog to train in dog sports and
came upon Chase on Petfinder. Sandy and I decided he would be a great match and up
he came! Chase took a while to get his brain to work and now he is a great flyball height
dog, measuring in at 14". Chase is training in agility and has done a few CPE classes
where he got qualifying scores. He is going to be VERY fast at agility! I am going to have
to keep up!! I recently discovered his knack for frisbee and hope to develop it further. At
home, Chase is my shadow. He likes to swim for frisbees and sit in my lap when I am at
the computer. His favorite toy is his giant jolly ball. Chase sleeps under the covers,
preferably in my armpit. He is a joy!
