Matsqui Valentines Tournament

First tournament after the Holiday break saw Hurry Canines race in to 2nd place in Division 2 with a best time of 18.76 secs. Our line-up of Sophie, Ruff, Sushi, Cindy and Dancer had some close racing throughout the day and Captain Linda managed to get the first perfect start of all teams in the tournament with Sophie......and won a T-shirt to mark the occasion!

Sunday our lack of practice and excess turkey pounds were starting to catch up on us! By the end of the day our younger dogs were feeling the strain and having a few issues. We bowed out gracefully from our last race but still managed to pull off 3rd place in Division 2 with a best time of 18.58 secs!

Highlight of our day though was seeing Dancer turn 2500 NAFA points to get his Flyball Dog Champion Gold title!

Congratulations on New Titles:

Kaotic Pacesetters Xmas Tournament

"Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow".......but not that much! Our tournament team headed out to Abbotsford on Friday under a beautiful sunny blue sky. Saturday morning we awoke to 2 inches of the white stuff! Barn Stormers Hurry Canines were undeterred and ready to race in to first place in Division 2.......and that's exactly what they did with a best time of 18.74 secs. There was a special moment during the second to last race of the day as Sophie turned the clock on
10, 000 NAFA points
and became our first "home-grown" Barn Stormer dog to earn a Flyball Master Excellent title.

Sophie FMX

Sunday morning found us scraping 6 inches of snow off our cars and we weren't at all surprised to hear that our Dam Busters team members would not be making the trip over to join us! The Hurrys raced on regardless while Jim, Wyatt, Trub and Paris held the Dam Busters together! The dogs had a great time but by 2.30pm the handlers were getting mighty anxious about the weather so we decided to run for the ferry. With 2 races to go the Hurrys were sitting in 1st place, but getting home safe and sound was more important! We were surprised to learn that Hurrys came in 2nd in Div 2 with a best time of 18.61 secs and Dam Busters came in 4th in Div 5 with a best time of 24.67 secs.

Congratulations on new titles:

Flying Squad's Remembrance Day Tournament
Barn Stormers Hurry Canines traveled to Cloverdale for a weekend of serious flyball racing! Saturday we landed ourselves in Division 1 competing against the top teams seeded in the 16 to 17 second bracket.... a little out of our league just yet, but we had a great time trying to beat them....and we did in a few races! We came in 6th with a best time of 18.60 secs but the best part was we had lots of practice mastering the new NAFA start lights in readiness for Sundays racing!

Sunday had us seeded top of Division 2 and we were on to win from the start...well at least in Captain Linda's mind! Hurry's aced their way through the day but our final races put us up against Northern Power Paws from Alberta. They were our only contender for the top position....and we had to beat them. First race we took 3 out of 4 heats. Our last race of the day we just had to win one out of the three heats to take first place, and even if we drew we would likely win on best time of the day. But the previous races scores weren't up yet and it was  hard to predict. No pressure, but the team had to know what we were up against! First 2 heats...we lost by 0.04 of a second. Yikes! We had no choice but to pull out all the stops for the final race. The order came from the Captain to pull up the start and tighten up those passes to a hairs width! We held our breath, we prayed and we played....and we won by 0.04 seconds. WOW! Hurry Canines took 1st place with a best time of 18.54 secs and Captain Linda was very, very happy to receive such a wonderful 47th Birthday present!!!

Congratulations on new titles:

TA Mats and Dogs Tournament

This was Barn Stormers Hurrycanines first time at racing in Division 1 in a NAFA tournament, so we didn't expect to come first, but to our delight we didn't come last! Our line-up of Sophie, Sushi, Ruffy, Dancer and Cindy pulled out all the stops and had some terrific races against the top teams in our region. Our best time of the day was 18.60 secs and we took 4th place!

Our Dam Busters team had their best performance to date and raced in to 3rd place in Division 3 with an all time best time of 23.26 secs with a line-up of Sadie, Wyatt, Jim, Buster and Bentley.

Congratulations on New NAFA Titles:

Buster FDX - Flyball Dog Excellent
Sadie FDX - Flyball Dog Excellent
Dancer FDCH-S - Flyball Dog Champion Silver
Sushi FDCH-S - Flyball Dog Champion Silver
