Angela Stefanec Biography

Angela Stefanec (previously known as Angela Fehr) is currently one of the coaches/owners/ trainers of the Region 8 Divisional Championship team Inner Drive K-9 Sports. Located in the Winnipeg area, Angela has been involved in flyball for 11 years. She has also previously played with Allsorts Dog Sports team. Angela has consistently had dogs running on Region 8 championship teams for the past 11 years. In her capacity as trainer, Angela is able to recognize the individual needs of different breeds and mixed breeds to enable her to be a highly effective trainer. Her training methods include time proven activities as well as ever changing methods to coach that extra tenth of a second off of a dog's time.

Angela is also an agility trainer with Inner Drive. Her diverse knowledge of canine behaviour and training has carried over to her competence as an agility instructor. She holds a number of agility titles with her dogs. Recently, she has taken first place titles in NADAC trials with a young, inexperienced dog.

Occasionally, Angela has bred purebred and crossbred performance dogs. All of the progeny from these litters excel at dog sports. Angela carefully considers the health, structure and temperament of the animals prior to the breedings to ensure successful matches.

Angela's dogs are highly successful competitors as well as cherished family pets who share the bed with her and her husband, fellow Inner Drive member Ron Stefanec. To be able to fund her dog activities, Angela has been an elementary school educator for the past 16 years.

Her accomplishments also include:

· Being a member of the scent hurdle racing Canadian National Champion team · Competitor in Superdogs · Flyball instruction and demonstrations for the Winnipeg Humane Society · Flyball seminars · Clicker seminars and obedience training for the St. Andrews Kennel Club · Various other community service activities demonstrating and educating the public on dogs and dog sports · Working with individual people and dogs with behavioural issues on a private basis.
