Well, then let me tell you a little bit about him.

Moore's Saucy Jack, UD ASCA-CDX CGC FDCH TDI  was our team captain's first boxer, already a pretty old guy by the time she started our flyball team.  From the way she talks about him, I think it was this guy that got her hooked on flyball . . . she sometimes tells stories about how he understood the competitions.  A dog that would actually watch the other lane to be certain he was running faster than the other dog.

I saw Jack as the demo dog for the obedience class that Mary teaches.  His incredible joy at being asked to do scent articles exuded from every wiggly inch of him.  Although a bit stiff with age, he gleefully ran out to the dumbbells and quickly picked the correct one out.  He then made eye contact with Mary (just to be sure she knew he'd found it), then set the correct one down and went back to the scent articles.  He checked them all out thoroughly, then indicated the correct one again "it's right here, mom" - and then back to touching all the rest of them.  It was too much fun to hurry through too quickly.

In his obedience trialing heyday, Jack would stand outside the ring and cry with anticipation, shuffling his feet in a happy dance at being able to do something fun with Mom.  This incredible attitude took him through many obedience titles, a High in Trial, and won him the 1999 American Boxer Club Performance Dog Award.

A typical boxer, Jack knew when it was ti8me for a good snooze.  This "nap with a view" was  one of his favorite places.

Godspeed, Jack - you will always were and always will be loved!
