Subject: Happy autumnal equinox from Alaska!
Congratulations! Chances are that you live south of latitude 60 N, in which case from 1:18 PM today (Alaska Time) until the sun crosses the equator again six months from now, you will have more daylight than all of us flyballers in Alaska.
While you're thinking about such a momentous occasion, take time to consider coming up for our 5th Annual Alaska Summer Solstice Tourneys. We have yet to finalize the contract for our venue, but tentatively pencil us in for next June 23-24 and 26-27.
If you're going to CanAm, please look us up so that we can give you our spiel. There will also be several previous Alaska Summer Solsticers in attendance from other teams. So, you don't have to take our word on how much fun it is to run flyball in Alaska!

Subject: Going Rogue (or Rouge) in Alaska!
The next couple of days will be very exciting for many folks due to the release of two much anticipated and very disparate books.
and
Going Rouge: An American Nightmare
With regard to politics, the readers of one book probably won't ever see eye to eye with the readers of the other book, but...
One thing on which *EVERYONE* can agree is that flyball in Alaska rocks!!!
Please consider coming up for our Alaska Summer Solstice Tourneys.

Subject: Alaska tourneys: Happy winter solstice!
YIPPEE!!! We've survived another 6 months of steadily decreasing daylight. In the Anchorage area on this fine winter solstice, the sun will rise at 10:15 AM only to set again 5 hours 28 minutes later at 3:43 PM. Then tomorrow, we'll have a measly 3 seconds more daylight than today. Right now, we'll take what we can get. By the time the summer solstice in June comes around, though, we'll have a surplus of daylight. In fact, barring a nuclear war (I can see Russia's arsenal from my house), it'll never get completely dark around that time of the year, which happens to coincide with our annual Alaska Summer Solstice Flyball Tourneys.
So, if you're feeling gloomy from the darkness and all the stresses associated with the holiday season, cheer up! Treat yourself to a well deserved flyball vacation. Start out by taking a gander at our website, which is chock-full of information to help you plan your trip.

Of course, feel free to contact me with any questions you might have. I'm willing to act as a travel agent of sorts for little or no commission :)

Subject: Cheap flights to Alaska!
Alaska Airlines (http://alaskaair.com/) recently posted the following awesome round-trip web specials for flights to Anchorage that include the time frame for our Alaska Summer Solstice Tourneys (June 23-24/26-27).
Denver - $398
San Francisco - $398
Los Angeles - $478
Alaska Airlines is also a great choice because their pet fee is only $100 each way.
To give everyone (especially those of you in Regions 16 and 19) some extra time to think about whether you'd like to run in the land of the midnight sun, we've extended our closing date to June 2.
If you've ever thought about flying your dog, it might help to know that dogs within our club have accumulated more than 132,000 flight miles from traveling out-of-state to flyball tournaments. My own dogs have flown an additional 30,000+ miles for reasons unrelated to flyball and they fared very well. Also, in previous years, several individuals have flown their dogs up here to compete in our solstice tourneys.
To help with your travel plans, we have included a list of pet-friendly lodging options on our website. If you're concerned about the cost of lodging, please consider camping at the tourney site where several other flyballers plan to stay (myself included). We can even loan you some camping equipment.
The planets are clearly in alignment for an amazing Alaska flyball vacation! Visit our website for additional information, and contact me if you have any questions.

Hope to see you soon!
