"Will work for lights"
Sethius Apophis (Forest Hills Northern Dream, A.K.A. Seth) was born 07-25-02 in Ohio. I wanted him badly enough but I didn't want to be the type of owner who lets their dog sit in the home all day with nothing to do. Pharaoh Hounds are not those type of dogs. They are a lot of work, needing a lot of physical and mental activity like any dog no matter the breed. I chose Seth to be a friend, and a companion, not a weapon or a possession, and I decided he needed an activity we could both enjoy. I owed Seth a lot for teaching me patience, blind love, and especially after he helped me through a tough time in my life. That is where Flyball comes in. There is a reason why Seth is only one of literally a handful of Pharaoh Hounds in training for flyball. Seth has gone from: regular dog treats to fancy dog treats like hot dogs to tug rewards and expensive squeaky toys. Finally I harnessed his strange obsession, the laser light. Now he will do ANYTHING for that laser light reward. He no longer loses focus to break away and chase other dogs, which is a strong instinct in his breed. Seth has definitely earned the quote: "will work for lights." When Seth isn't at flyball he can be found: Sleeping like a bum, flipping the doggy finger at my commands, going for long walks or trotting beside the bike in summer, and chasing lights. Pharaoh Hounds may look nice, but they are a lot of work. I suggest thorough research of any breed before buying from a registered and trustworthy breeder. I also suggest you save a life and rescue a dog from petfinder.com. Please spay and neuter, otherwise there wouldn't be a need for animal rescue groups.
