Quinnie was born on 11/11/03 and joined the family of Jim, Pam, Sophie and Jessie (border collies) and Blue (the cat) Holen on New Year’s Eve 2003. She was Gold Streaked from RedTop Kennels in Caldwell, Idaho and howled the entire trip. The breeder, Patrick Shannahan, is a well-known competitive sheep herded and chose Quinnie for us from his excellent line of intelligent and healthy border collies.  Quinnie is our “manic and panic” dog – she exemplifies all the quirky traits found in the breed.  She trained for agility but we retired her before her first trial (she is too fast for me). She has dabbled in obedience, checked out the sheep (and has no fear), and now plays with the “big dogs” in flyball.
         Quinne is a calendar girl, appearing in BrownTrout Calendars for the first time in 2007. She joins a four year tradition of posing for Fred and Randy Hirschmann with Sophie, Jessie, and Blue (the cat). She is our back-up greeter for our bed and breakfast Dragonfly Gardens B&B.  Although not as outgoing as Sophie and Jessie, she loves quiet attention from the kids. She is also the entertainment – herding anything that moves, including the cat.
