Gracie at the box

Gracie

(NAFA points/racing history)

FDCh-S

Gracie was adopted from the Alaska Mat-Su Dog and Puppy Rescue at 8 weeks of age in 2004. Black Lab is the prominent visual breed, while her size comes from St. Bernard. She started her flyball career in Oct of 2004 at the age of 6 months. Despite her size, she has mastered the art of a consistent swimmer’s turn. She may tip the scales between 100 and 105 lbs, but she doesn’t let that stop her. When focused, she is unstoppable.

A poem by fellow Flyballer Sheena Craig:

My name is Gracie
Though many think I am large and cumbersome
They have yet to see me run
I have a heart as big as any other creature
And my determination is just as great
And though I may be large and cumbersome to many
To those who know me
I am Gracie
A dog whose large heart will always have enough room
Even for those who doubt me
I am a flyball dog!
